Event Review: Face Fashion

Face Fashion was held Thursday December 11 at The Forum, Entertainment Quarter and showed some fabulous fashion.  Face Fashion's 1st Birthday was further cause for celebration on the day.

Designers included: Emily Sarks, Fiona Rougdis, Perspective Apparel, Lemisee, Kylie Hawks and Pizzuto.

The women's collection was gorgeous:  feminine and flirty. The men's: cool, crisp and casual. Painted hearts

Recessionistas rejoice: Shop hot designer labels for seriously low prices.

In these tough economic times savvy fashionistas are turning recessionista. Recessionistas are the switched on little sisters to traditional fashionistas – they want their cake and they’ll eat it too!

Whilst stocks plummet and we are all advised to make the most of what we’ve already got in our closets, recessionistas are sneakily shopping for designer goods like it was 2007 and still coming out on top.

Nicole Richie and other celebrities wearing the Rayban Aviator trend

From Rachel Bilson and Nicole Richie to Jennifer Aniston, Rayban aviators are the celeb sunglasses choice in 2008.
If you have ever wondered how to dress like Nicole Richie, with your very non celeb budget, your first stop in emulating celeb fa

Blake Lively in backwards cardigan

Love it or hate it? Blake Lively, aka Serena from Gossip Girl, was seen at the Juicy Couture NYC store opening in what looked very much to be a backwards cardigan. Cute? Edgy? Too reminiscent of Celine Dion's Oscars disaster?

I can't decide. Would love to know your thoughts.

Mischa Barton in backless dress

I have to admit I am so used to seeing skeletal backbones on celebs (to go with the rest of their skeletal selves) that I did a double take when I saw this pic of Mischa Barton in a backless dress. Mischa will probably be bagged as "fat" for having a little extra flesh in this pic by Hollywood standards (Perez is no doubt onto it already).

MoovBoots: The stylish alternative for staying warm and dry this Winter

MoovBoots: The stylish alternative for staying warm and dry this Winter

Despite being only early November, I’ve noticed an absolute influx of ugg boots and wellies on the usually well-heeled-heels of New Yorkers. One can hardly blame - when it comes to comfort, Uggs are it – and for wet weather practicality, wellies do the trick. All well and good – but what do you wear when its both cold AND raining? More

Singer Fergie wears the liquid leggings fashion trend

Singer Fergie wears the liquid leggings fashion trend This pic was taken a few months ago, but as the liquid legging trend really seems to be taking hold I thought this picture was a good reminder that this trend really seems to work when the leggings are only visible under a longer top or dress. Its VERY hard to pull th

Lindsay Lohan in boyfriend jeans

  Lindsay Lohan in boyfriend jeans.

Seems you can't open a fashion magazine these days without someone getting all hot and bothered about boyfriend jeans. I am already over this trend before its even taken hold. Many celebs are trying it out with mixed results, and I simply had to share the pic below of Lady Lohan giving them a shot.

Katie Holmes wears own design on red carpet

Katie Holmes wears own design on the red carpet: Hmm. I don't think this is working Katie. I'm sorry. It could be the fact that you have tried to incorporate 3 trends (harem pants, jumpsuit, black lace) into one confused outfit. What bothers me the most though, is the shoes. They look like kumfs! And the necklace looks kind of odd there, its lost in the lace detail on the neckline.

Where to buy stockings and tights?

So, rather than imparting any information I instead have a question for US 2threaders. Where can a gal stock up on tights for this winter? Specifically, a good pair of 100 denier black opaques, a floral pair (if the pattern is good) and a pair of sexy lace tights? Happy to buy online or be pointed to a store in NYC....

Hypercolour t-shirts - the Return

Hyper-colour t-shirts - the return.
I knew it was only a matter of time until hyper-colour t shirts returned. I mean with the 90's far enough behind us to now be officially considered "retro" and the current return of key wardrobe items from the 90's, it was only a matter of time. And so it was that I was brow

Multi chain necklaces

Multi chain necklaces are one trend that keeps popping up for fall, with everyone from MK Olsen to Naomi Watts embracing the layered look.
It’s a bold, intriguing look that creates drama, demands attention, and harks back to the days when you were a kid and playing in your mum’s jewelry box.

NYC goes gaga for fashion week

Ah Fashion  Week... Last year I had the pleasure of being a pure sideline (and sidewalk) spectator of FW - this year however is a whole other story as we work to bring our readers all the madness on and off the runways of fashion week. We have some fantastic new 2threads community members who are capturing and uploading pics from the shows at Bryant park (whilst the runways are still warm!) plus some interesting shots of whats happen

the NYC fashion week was amazing (not that i was there) but style.com helped me out a little in that department. Stand out shows for me were Carolina Herrera for her elegance, Michael Kors for his chic use of strips and polka dots, Anna Sui for her freedom with colour and form, Narciso Rodriguez and of course Marc Jacobs for delivering what he does best.

    Hello Lovely
Checked out Alice.. I would have to say I am inclined to agree! I like the white dress with the blue belt (very classic with a modern twist).. The patterns are interesting seem to work better breaking them up with the belts again ;) The collection seemed varied but is kind of pulled together with the choice of colour.. Well that's my opinion anyway!!
